Paddle to the Sea

Inspired by the Caldecott Honor picture book by Holling C. Holling. This is the classic film about a young Native American boy with a dream. One winter, he carves a small wooden man in a canoe and sets him off on a journey he could never make. "I am Paddle to the Sea" he carves into the bottom of the boat, "Please put me back in the water". The boy's tiny stream becomes raging rivers and gigantic lakes as the canoe encounters everything from engineering beavers and hungry seagulls to giant ships and Niagara Falls before finally making it to the open sea.
